Founders and Survivors Newsletter No. #3, December 2009

Dear Friend of Founders & Survivors,

The third issue of Chainletter, the Founders and Survivors newsletter, has been published. This issue features articles on An experiment in treating scurvy that was found in one of the ship's surgeon's journals, and on the Cascades Female Factory. We also have news about progress on the transcription of archival material into our database, and on the online research infrastructure that is currently in development.

There are two files available for download. FAS_Newsletter_03_09_large.pdf is a larger file with a larger image resolution (higher quality images) while FAS_Newsletter_03_09.pdf is more suitable if you have a slow internet connection.

This is the final issue of Chainletter for the year. Many thanks to everyone who has been in contact with us or made contributions over the year. May we wish you all a happy and safe Christmas, and we look forward to new developments with our online research system in the new year.
