Female Factory Research Group

Please note that the Female Factory Research Group only works on the 12,5000 female convicts sent to Van Diemen's Land, not those sent to New South Wales. It would be wonderful to get a similar group active in New South Wales.

Founders and Survivors Newsletter No. 5, August 2010

In this second issue of Chainletter for 2010 we bring good news about the start of research projects and the final policy on the public release of data submitted by donor historians and convict descendants. This issue also features news about our partnership with the Female Factory Research Group, and an article about the Queen's Orphan Schools.

There are two files available for download. FAS_Newsletter05_Aug2010_BIG.pdf is a larger file with a larger image resolution (higher quality images) while FAS_Newsletter05_Aug2010_Small.pdf is more suitable if you have a slow internet connection.

UPDATED link for Founders and Survivors Newsletter No. #4, April 2010

This first issue of Chainletter for 2010 looks at crime, misdemeanors and redemption. And we are delighted to review Alison Alexander’s new book — the first to be written directly from Founders & Survivors’ research. Finally, we announce the coming launch of our online work-station and our first volunteers’ workshop.
